What is Information Privacy?

Information privacy, or data privacy, relates to how the personal data of a data subject is collected and stored.

Personally identifiable information (PII) would include:

  • Name, address, date of birth
  • Medical records
  • Criminal records
  • Financial data

Information can be kept private using secure systems to store it, and encrypting and keeping access to a minimum.
