What’s New in ISMS.online

This month, we’ve released a set of fantastic new features to ISMS.online. Based on our customer feedback, we’ve improved the platform to make the experience of using ISMS.online even better.

We’re also excited to announce the launch of the ISO 27002:2022 control set within the platform. We have already helped customers migrate to the new controls – if you’re interested in finding out more about how we do this then book a demo today.

Read on to learn about the latest updates including document management integrations, mapping and linking work, and user management.

A Faster Path To Certification

Updates to the Assured Results Method

With this update, we’ve brought major visual improvements to the Assured Results Method. The new timeline gives users a high-level view of compliance actions that need to be taken for certification. The new look clearly shows activities that require attention or that are due soon to help you focus on key milestones and tackle high-priority tasks.

Activities displayed in each individual step can now be modified to be:
– Open
– Awaiting approval
– Completed

The new Assured Results Method provides full visibility into outstanding actions with key dates associated to them to keep you moving in the right direction. Mapping out a project plan is easy. Simply create an actionable timeline of key events and track progress to drive your implementation project one step at a time.

This is the first of a number of changes coming to the Assured Results Method to help you stay on track and achieve certification even faster.

Migrating to ISO 27002:2022

We’re ready to help you migrate to the new ISO 27002:2022 control set. If you’d like to learn more then book a demo and we’ll show you how we can help.

This new set of controls released on the 15th of February 2022 revises the existing ISO 27002:2013 controls. There are now 93 controls including 11 new controls and some controls which were merged or removed entirely. We’ve updated ISMS.online to reflect all these changes.

As you would expect from ISMS.online, we provide a great out of the box experience for anyone starting afresh with the new ISO 27002:2022 control set. We’ve built a control framework to handle the four new security categories:
A.5: Organizational controls
A.6: People controls
A.7: Physical controls
A.8: Technological controls

Each control is equipped with our Adopt, Adapt, Add template content as well as an integrated Virtual Coach containing two key areas. The first is a section on how to migrate existing policies and controls from the 2013 version of the standard, the second are the key points and considerations for this 2022 control itself.

Migration Options

ISMS.online has already helped many customers migrate from ISO 27002:2013 to the 2022 version of the standard. From simply providing the content and allowing you to work your way through it yourself to a fully managed service, we offer a range of different services to help you do this.

The top-tier option is designed to do the heavy lifting for you with a migration plan and administrative support from our Information, Governance and Compliance team. They will work collaboratively with you to fulfil any confidence or capacity gaps to keep your project on track and provide ongoing support of your management system beyond the implementation.

Easier Document Management

SharePoint and OneDrive Integrations

We’ve made document management a breeze meaning less time spent on admin and effort. This was a highly requested feature that has been released to allow you to seamlessly integrate ISMS.online with Microsoft at a click of a button.

With SharePoint and OneDrive integrations, you can manage your documents with ease by associating files stored in the cloud into ISMS.online. Upload copies of common document types, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint or OneNote to different areas of the platform for reference. Any changes you make on the document in SharePoint or OneDrive will be automatically updated in ISMS.online. That way it’s easy to keep everything up to date.

If you want to learn more about integrating OneDrive and SharePoint with ISMS.online then please contact your Customer Success Manager who can advise you further.

Coming Soon

Thanks to your feedback, we know that some customers find it useful to integrate ISMS.online with other key business systems. As a result we are working on a range of new integrations, including Google Drive and Zapier. More details on these will be released soon.

Introducing Approval Chains

Avoid time-consuming processes by using the latest approval chain feature in ISMS.online. Great for larger organisations, approval chains ensure each policy or control is signed off by all key stakeholders before going live.

By defining an approval chain, you allow everyone who is in the approval to see the chain that’s in process. When an approval is requested, it triggers automatic email notifications to everyone in the chain as part of their outstanding work. Upon submission, an approver can signal when the policy or control is approved or provide additional information via notes to help resolve any corrections quickly and efficiently. The chain moves through each approver in sequence until it is fully signed off. It’s a great route to enhance productivity and collaborate with different departments in your organisation.

We have a range of help guides in our support area on how to configure approval chains within your organisation. If you require further help please contact our Support Team who will be happy to assist.

Categories for Policies and Controls

One important area of our work is in providing an easier and more transparent way to manage policies and controls directly within ISMS.online.

Categories in Policies and Controls is a new and hugely flexible feature that enables users to apply additional information to policies, controls and activities within projects you run in ISMS.online. This is a great way of tracking policies and controls internally and externally like the departmental ownership or the maturity of controls.

As a platform administrator you will have the ability to define your own parent categories in Policies and Controls, edit names and colours and use filer options to bring them all together. All the categories you have set up and applied will be reflected directly in the overall Account Reports.

If you have any questions on how to use categories, please check out our support guides or contact our support team via the Live Chat.
